Velocity Design Group needs to be deleted. the URL is bad and there is no other information, contact or otherwise to warrant its having a listing. ~susiesosad
- thanks, deleted
the "create page" function on the main page is easily confused for a search box. ~susiesosad
- yeah, that is confusing. a mainpage redo is next on the agenda.--Matt 16:33, 10 July 2007 (PDT)
companies with multiple locations....i forgot what you wanted me to do about those...Wall-to-Wall Studios is in PA and HI..WoW in Toykyo and Sendai...ViewPoint Creative in Boston and LA...head office in form, additional in "free text" under heading "additional locations"?~susiesosad
- I've updated the ones you mentioned. For now I just made a sentance saying they are also in another city and put the semantic syntax in there. You can see an example at ViewPoint_Creative (to see the syntax). --Matt 16:33, 10 July 2007 (PDT)
- oh yeah, and there needs to be some sort of parenthetical for the City, State, and Country fields for continuity, so people don't enter abbreviations instead of the proper names (if that's the route you want to take). ~susiesosad
- Ya, the autosuggest thing should help with that (it suggests pages already entered with similar spellings), but I'll also write some guidelines in the form (sometime). --Matt 16:33, 10 July 2007 (PDT)

- a related question -- what do you do about redundant locale names (Geneva, Switzerland. Geneva, Illinois)? not to say that it will happen that often, but i just thought i'd bring that up. ~susiesosad
- Hmmm. In your example, Wikipedia uses "Geneva" for Geneva, Switzerland, because it's the most known. And it uses "Geneva, Illinois" for Geneva, Illinois. That might work. And you could have a link on the "Geneva" page saying "If you're looking for Geneva, Illinois" go here. --Matt 16:33, 10 July 2007 (PDT)

also...(sorry)...what to do if a company is listed in, say, L.A., but the actual address on their website is Hollywood (or Venice or...). L.A. is technically the same metropolitan area as their location, but it isn't what is on their website. not sure what you want me to do with those. i'm a librarian. naperville does not equal chicago. ~susiesosad
kuebs, email is down again. love, happynever
well, now it's not down, but it is rather splotchy.
- Yeah, email is definitely being strange for me too. --Matt 10:36, 10 July 2007 (PDT)

SGArts
SGArts:Hey man, I was trying to add a company and I think I messed it up. As you can see there are now two entries for SGArts and one of them has the same text twice. Can you delete them so I can start over? I appreciate it. Love the site.
Matt: Okay, I deleted both of the pages. Glad you like the site!
plz delete one
hello matt, how can i delete one of my "sites" (xs2eye, carsten böhnert - freelancers) somehow i did it twice. thank you for your reply
- Hey Carsten. I deleted both your pages (because the titles were way too long) and moved your info to Carsten Böhnert.--Matt 16:03, 10 December 2006 (PST)
edit title
hi matt, how do i edit the name of a company if it is not correct? Trollback should be Trollbäck + Company.
- I went ahead and moved it (and deleted the old page). The page is now at Trollbäck + Company. Thanks for the heads up.--Matt 17:33, 12 December 2006 (PST)
hi again, seems as if the ä will be a little too difficult to find for people - i am sorry for the inconvenience, but could you please change back to Trollback + Company? Thanks a million
- No problem, done. Trollback + Company. --Matt 10:20, 21 December 2006 (PST)
Jobs page
Hi Matt, What about about a jobs page? It can be geographically divided, or even better - in the same page as the city (in addition to the freelancers and companies sections). I wasn't sure what is the best way to do it, so I didn't do it myself.
Cheers, Rotem.
- Hmm I'm not sure about a jobs page. I fear that might be trying to do too much. I think a page ABOUT job resources would be good - pointing to different forums that contain job posts like mograph's job board and Krop. The wiki software isn't really set up to do as nice a job as something like Krop does.--Matt 21:40, 15 January 2007 (PST)
accidently double entry
hey. I somehow entered my site twice in the freelancers directory. (David Kamp audiodesign) could you remove one of my entries?
thanksalot, david.
- For some reason the "//" was making it show up funny. I just changed it to David Kamp and deleted the others.--Matt 09:35, 20 January 2007 (PST)
Hi Matt, Is there any way of improving search results - searching for xyz leads to no results, and searching for xyz studios, leads to a lot of studios, with us tucked away deep in the list. thanks mate, Dan
- Yes - you can redirect pages to other pages. You do that by using this syntax in the page you want to redirect: "#REDIRECT [[XYZ Studios]]". I've added that to the xyz studios page and the xyz page. So if you search one of those you'll be brought right to the XYZ Studios page. Hope that soves your problem. Thanks again for posting on here. XYZ does some awesome work. --Matt 18:02, 15 February 2007 (PST)
