Tomorrow's Brightest Minds was founded in 2001 by Rob Boocheck (director), Dave Simmons (graphics & effects) and Wade Harpootlian (producer). As a collective with backgrounds in advertising, web, and graphic design, TBM set out to find creative ways to combine traditional animation and modern design techniques with live action and digital tweakery. This idea has materialized in a number of stylized forms in music videos for Chromeo, The Datsuns, Death Cab For Cutie, Snow Patrol, The Donnas, and Jet, and more recently in commercials for Slim Jim, G4tv, Chef Boyardee and Adidas.
TBM Graphics works in broadcast, film and print design, as well as visual effects & compositing. Most recently, TBM animated the Joe Walsh song "Funk #49" for projection on the Eagles' 2008 world tour. TBM's animation and title work can currently be seen in AJ Schnack's documentary "Kurt Cobain About A Son," and Doug Pray's new trucker doc "Big Rig." Broadcast packages have gone out to networks like TLC, MTV and The Discovery Channel, and the TBM aesthetic has translated to print design in LP and DVD packaging, logos, and lobby posters for "Kurt Cobain About A Son," "Big Rig," and current festival-rounder "Jump!"
