The Short Story
Tendril is a director-driven design studio based in Toronto, Canada. It is a lab and workshop where directors, designers, and artists from diverse backgrounds create powerful visual storytelling experiences, exploying a wide range of styles and techniques.
The Long Story
Born out of the ongoing collaboration of Brazilian-Canadian directorial team Chris Bahry and Alexandre Torres and headquarted in Toronto, Tendril is a full-service visual design and animation studio. We are at our best when called upon to carry a project from initial concept through design, execution and delivery. With a thirst for high production value honed by years working for a wide range of international clients and our own program of experimental works, we are equally comfortable behind a camera directing live action as we are hunched over our sketchbooks, designing, writing, or delving into complex 3D graphics or visual effects.
We love technology and are design addicts by any measure, but the pencil or whiteboard sketch is our favourite tool and we believe that style and execution should follow narrative vision and imagination. Supported by a slowly expanding team of amazingly talented designers, production artists, and sound designers, our singular vision continues to grow with each new project.

Tendril also benefits from having two sister companies under the same roof: Relish Editing, a thriving creative commercial post-production company established over ten years ago; and 567vfx, a five year-old vibrant and bustling creative commercial visual effects house. Exciting professional collaboration and creative interplay organically blossom out of the mutually beneficial relationship and shared studio space amongst the three companies. Not all projects are shared; though the interdisciplinary approach that is naturally fostered in the shared space also breeds fresh creativity and invention.

Tendril is currently repesented by HestyReps in Canada and Blacklist in the United States. We are currently seeing representation in Europe / UK.
