Pixel Smearing

A wipe technique created when an image is stretched non-proportionally to create long thin lines based on the original pixels. Used notably in G-Munk's Finn Movie. Imaginary Forces Nike commercial, Brand New School's sneaker commercial, [Stardust]]'s Chevy commercial, etc. etc. etc.
Methods
- Modify Scale Wipe in AE.
- Use Pete Warden's free plug-in for AE "Smear". See link below
- Project an image onto a 3D surface at an odd angle causing a smear effect. If done right this will give you a smear onto a true 3D surface that can then be viewed from many angles.
