No Fat Clips!!! is a blog showcasing music videos, movies, commercials, videogame cinematics, broadcast sequences and other kinds of visual art and entertainment.
Chronology
- september 2005: The blog was founded by DeK on the Blogger platform;
- april 2007: Signed with Dreamhost in order to host internally nearly all clips on the blog, mostly as MP4 files;
- june 2008: support for the OGG Video format, the free open standard container format, was introduced;
- october 2008: No Fat Clips!!! gets its first DMCA takedown notice;
- may 2009: In order to overcome the limitations of the Blogger platform, some PHP tools were developed for tasks such as image rotation, video previewing, credit lists and HTML automation.
- august 2009: the blog switches to Wordpress
Features
- blog posts are mostly bilingual (English and Italian) while video content is only available in the original language (subtitled when not English);
- video clips are all made available for download, at the best video quality available at the moment of the post;
- old posts are systematically updated when links die or better clips become available;
