Nando Costa began his career as part of the local art scene in Rio de Janeiro. At an early age he joined the prestigious Parque Lage School of Visual Arts where he, over three years of study, perfected painting and drawing techniques.
Years later, after also studying Graphic Design and working with various types of print projects at a local design studio, Nando moved to the U.S. and for the following three years he worked across the various fields of print, web and motion graphics by living in New York City, Atlanta and Chicago.
It was in late 2002 that Nando and his wife Linn Olofsdotter became the creative leaders of their own motion graphics studio, Nakd. During this phase the couple worked with North American, European and Asian clients from their Brazilian office. MTV, Fine Living, Cartoon Network, CNX, CMT, Anime Network and Dentsu were amongst some of their clients.
Two years later Nando and Linn left the company in the hands of their ex-partner to return to the U.S. and work with larger brands from the perspective of an ad agency. As Creative Director, Nando joined Boston based agency Modernista! to work with clients like Budweiser, GM and Napster.
In late 2006 Nando started a new design entity named Nervo in the city of Portland, Oregon. With all the experience in the fields of web, print and animation, Nervo plans on supporting its clients with all of the multi-medium assistance some projects may require. Nervo is represented by Patricia Claire Company.
In addition to the work produced for clients, Nando has also published two books with renowned German publisher Die-Gestalten. He’s exhibited at more than 20 art events and has spoken at 10 different design and film events around the globe.
Nike, Diesel, VH1, Coca-Cola, Wieden & Kennedy, Microsoft and Palm are some of the other brand Nando has worked with.
