Graymachine is the motion design moniker of Harry J Frank, a Detroit based motion designer, with clients in LA, Chicago and New York.

Stemming from the idea of being a producer of material that spans art and science (and where one stops and the other one starts is a little bit gray), the name 'graymachine' was coined in the summer of 2005, to be a design studio.

After leaving the Detroit NBC affiliate, he took the plunge in the Fall of 2006 to become a full-time freelance motion graphics artist. To date his work has been seen on NBC, ESPN, Spike, G4TV and much more. He works frequently with Royal Pictures in LA, and Digital Kitchen in Chicago.

graymachine.com has also become a place for many to learn about motion graphics through his tutorials on his site. As a former adjunct faculty member at Detroit's College for Creative Studies, the tutorials started simply to help him fine-tune his teaching skills, and help his students and colleagues to learn the art and science of motion graphics. Harry (along with Michele Yamazaki) is also a contributor to aefreemart.com, a free repository of presets, ideas, and experiments for After Effects users.

To date, Harry has authored "After Effects Expressions" Volume 1 & 2, which is the world's only video training dedicated to the programming of AE Expressions. He has also released a training module on Trapcode Form. All of these products are distributed through Toolfarm.com - http://toolfarm.stores.yahoo.net/toexse.html

The tools of choice for Harry are After Effects and Maya. Harry is one of the few After Effects ACEs (Adobe Certified Experts) in the Midwest. He is available for freelance motion design on or off-site.
