Digital Compositing is the art of taking two or more images (still images or image sequences) and integrating them to form a new composition.

A composite image may be purposefully photorealistic or stylized in a certain way. For composites intended to be photorealistic the quality of the final result is determined by how well the artist can conceal the fact that image is a composite, fake.

Adobe After Effects is a compositing application many mograph designers use to produce their work.
