Blender is the open source software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback. Available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. On 2006 the animated movie: Elephant's Dream was released, it was done entirely with blender and other open-source programs and ranked 6th on CGSOCIETY's 2006 Retrospective.

Blender can be used with YAFRAY (Yet Another Free Raytracer).
