BTRY is a new multi-disciplinary art and design studio producing commercial, and non-commercial projects in motion design, 3D animation, and live action.
BTRY is comprised of Ron Gervais, Mike McDougall, Dave Greene, Steve McArdle. Each has come from successful shop's and individual ventures, bringing a depth of knowledge and expertise, racking up an impressive number of years in the industry. Ron and Dave worked previously under the name iamstatic (www.iamstatic.com) while Mike and Steve worked as Vanish (www.vanish.tv) and Iguana-Den (www.iguana-den.com) respectively.
At the start of 2008 the team decided to pool talents and experience and founded BTRY.
Ron Gervais and Mike McDougall act as the creative directing team and Dave Greene and Steve McArdle are behind the 3d production and animation.
The coming together of this group, has brought a great mix of abilities, approaches and willingness to experiment in different ways that make the whole much stronger than the parts. And that's the whole point. Each of us has a unique perspective in our approach to a project but as in most small studios there is quite a bit of overlap in disciplines that allows us to blur the lines of established "roles".
With work showcased and awarded from WIRED Magazine, STASH, FITC, RESFEST, MTV, and at Cannes, the group has received a lot of attention to their work.
They all live and play in Toronto, and one takes the train in everyday to pretend he does.
BTRY is represented by Electric Company in Toronto and Curious Pictures in New York.
